I do what I do because I love life's intricate little moments, I want to share them with the world. I believe there is beauty beyond the surface level of pretty models with pretty dresses. People are beautiful because of the emotions they share with the world, quite too often do people overlook that with the false perfections that are shown through social media. I love photography because I get to capture and freeze those moments to share. My clients not only get to see and experience that emotion again, but be reminded of the surroundings and nature that embraces them.

So why does this all matter? I believe this matters because as humans we experience moments fully, but do not remember all of it. For example, A wedding day is fleeting, the couple is surrounded by their loved ones feeling all the emotions all jam packed into one day. All the intricate details of the venue, The little trinkets that their family may have contributed with deep meanings, that meaningful handoff of the bride from father to groom. These moments are memorable, but no-one remembers that little shimmering tear coming down a fathers face while he dances with his daughter. As he thinks about all of his daughters life phases that brings her to this moment. No-one remembers the tea set that the brides mom hand picked for her daughter's tea ceremony for months on end. No one remembers the funny moment where the grooms serious aunt got dragged out on the dance floor.

I help people notice those small moments and details. These moments help in times of need, the times when life is not going the way you want it to, the times you miss someone that may not be here anymore. Feeling is a beautiful thing and what makes us human, and I want to share that with my clients through the eyes of my lens.

I chose "NYNC" for my brand name as it reflects the initials of my full name, Nok Yu Norris Chan. As a native of Hong Kong, it’s common to receive an English name at birth as a middle name, while my first name consists of two characters. This results in four initials when including my middle name, which is different from the usual two or three. Growing up, many assumed I picked "Norris" as my English name, however it was actually given to me by my parents, inspired by a female artist my mother discovered in a book.

With "NYNC," I aim to honor my heritage and celebrate both the Chinese and English names my parents selected for me.

I believe that feeling a photograph is not just the emotions between subjects but the location around. The sound of the waterfall dancing in a distance. The warmth of the sun beaming on your shoulder.

I believe that the moments you want to remember aren't always perfect or scripted, they are uncut, raw and writhing with emotion.

I believe the connection you have with your photographer is equally as important as the quality of photos. It should feel like a friend supporting you, not a serious business transaction.

I believe this is not just a job, photography is my passion and I see myself as an artist before a photographer. It is a blessing I get to share it with others.
